ABOUT US

Medical Technology & Practice Patterns Institute (MTPPI) is a nonprofit organization established in 1986 to conduct research on the clinical and economic implications of health care technologies. MTPPI's research is directed toward the formulation and implementation of local and national health care policies.

With extensive investigator experience in both the public and private sectors, MTPPI's staff designs, implements, and conducts a full range of health services research activities. The staff includes clinicians, health services researchers, economists, statisticians, biomedical engineers, lawyers, and policy analysts. We specialize in using available administrative, survey or patient registry data to conduct 'real time,' 'real world' studies that are both affordable and useful for decision making. Studies performed by the Institute in these and many other areas have been published in peer-reviewed journals and many are published by the Institute itself. Some of these publications will be available on-line. An overview of some of the facilities and the computer systems used in these studies is also included here.

Located in Washington, DC, MTPPI has long-standing contacts with numerous governmental agencies, medical professional associations, medical industry and provider organizations. The Institute also collaborates with many other research groups, including academic institutions and international health organizations.
