Medicaid Tape to Tape Database
include("textmenu.asp") ?>The Tape-to-Tape Project provides detailed data for Medicaid policy studies. Since 1980, It has collected claims-level data voluntarily provided by California, Georgia, Michigan, and Tennessee. Tape-to-Tape data are derived from state Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) files. MMIS is the basic source of all data on Medicaid enrollment, utilization, and payments. Researchers may obtain MMIS data directly from individual states. The HCFA Medicaid statistical Information System (MSIS) can also provide claims-level data. However, these systems do not provide the editing, recoding, and reformatting necessary to produce research-ready data.
