ESRD PMMIS Beneficiary File

Persons with End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) became eligible for Medicare benefits on July 1, 1973. The ESRD Program Management and Medical Information System (PMMIS) tracks Medicare ESRD beneficiaries, providers, and aggregate population counts. The beneficiary-specific portion of the PMMIS captures demographic, medical, reimbursement, and entitlement data on Medicare ESRD beneficiaries. The file is updated quarterly and contains a full history of ESRD benefit utilization. (This quarterly file is slated for replacement by real-time extracts from HCFA's new REBUS database system.)
