Facilities and Resources
MTPPI's in-house computer system is a network of several Linux-based servers. The primary analysis server is Xeon-based Dell PowerEdge with 2 gigabytes of memory and several hundred gigabytes of high speed RAID storage. Analysts access this server via thin clients and use SAS 8.2 to conduct statistical analysis.

Off-line storage devices include two 250MB and one 2GB quarter-inch cartridge drives, six 2GB DAT drives, two 16GB DAT autoloaders, a 9-track reel streamer, a 3480/90 autoloader, and a 3480/90/90E autoloader. Given all the capacities and peripherals listed above, the MTPPI minicomputer systems are capable of inputting, processing, analyzing, and storing very large data sets originating from systems ranging up to multi-mainframe tape silos.

The application and programming software on MTPPI's UNIX systems includes the statistical packages SAS, SPSS, and LIMDEP, and the programming languages of C, Pascal, and FORTRAN.
